LONDON WEEKEND BREAKS - Things to remember
London weekend breaks require plenty of planning and not all of that planning is obvious, so here are a few ideas, suggestions, thought prompts and questions to ask yourself in order to get the most out of your London break.
- Figure out your main sightseeing objectives in advance of your visit and pre-book tickets and reservations in advance.
- If you intend to hit lots of attractions, consider buying a London Tourist Pass and think about Tube or bus routes between the things that you want to see.
- The reason for your break will probably determine what you want to see and do and help set any agenda. If you are open to ideas, then one good way to make your weekend break plans is by dividing each day into day and night time hours.
- Evenings are easy to plan because you need to allow for dinner and many of the outdoor sightseeing attractions will be closed. Dinning in a restaurant and going to a show, bar, club or nightclub may be worth considering.
- Potential daytime sightseeing activities are almost limitless, however one plan is to divide your day into sections and spend each of those sections in a different sightseeing area. Each of these areas will have a number of tourist highlights that you can get to on foot before using the tube, bus or taxi to move on to another.
- Try to give yourself some bad weather fall back alternatives. Some attractions are best seen with good weather whilst others are fine even if it rains. E.g.’s could be museums and shopping areas.
